ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kate Downes is a multi medium artist from a small town in Eastern Maryland. Though appreciating all mediums, she fell in love with a ancient technique of oil painting called Mischtechnik while in Austria. She has since been called to follow the technique around the world, taking her to New York, Spain, Greece and Crete. Kate receives inspiration from mythological texts and archeological origins, particularly inspired by Ancient cultures of Goddess worship. She aims to express the power and grace in the feminine energy.
